With the shapton 16, I would just go with 20 laps at a time with only enough pressure to keep blade where you want it to avoid overhoning. I think this is where many "mess" up with shapton gs...

This is the angle I took in the beginnings and it works well, very well. Don't stop until it shaves like a dream...you will learn a lot along the way.

20-30x on plain leather for the first shave to ensure it's right on the money & if it is, follow up with 100x every time. Been chasing edges lately, so I want to feel what is going on before...
