Tests are all very helpful, but the only real one is what the lather is like to shave... -

Dry, thin lather is a sure sign of not getting...
Dry, thin lather is a sure sign of not getting enough soap on your brush.
As already suggested, use a soaked, squeezed brush on the puck and really load the brush til you have a thick creamy...
