Why is it stamped 'Germany'?

I thought so initially but comparing these scales to another bone straight I'm just not sure. I see hardly any pores.

So you think that this was straight made by the J.Dixon Cutlery Co. Germany
from Sheffield, England?

I'm a little confused.....

And it's stamped 'XXtra' and not 'Xtra'.

Can anybody take a guess at the scale material?

Does anyone know anything about this straight? I find absolutely zero info on the internet. The scales on this blade look like ivory....hardly any pores and has a waxy feel to them. Any help would be...
