Also, if you can, use the plastic basket at all times. I have an earlier model without one. Rubbing on the stainless steel tank will wear the plating off a DE very quickly

A tray for soaking hones is easy as a trip to a junk shop! As long as the Rim is higher than the ridges. That way one does not cross contaminate the hones with grits....
