I didn't mean to knock an 8k edge, I was always told that you should always have the edge from the last stone you honed on and if you don't, you haven't honed properly.

I'm always at least 50 xstrokes on the coticules, sometimes 100. Off an 8k could it be more to remove the 8k edge?
