TBH, I thought of this.....I have a half 3-line...
TBH, I thought of this.....I have a half 3-line Swaty nested in the case for my Lipshaws to maintain them.
Rub the edges dry. Before and after. They slice well.

Am thinking something like a precision...
Am thinking something like a precision boning/fillet knife would benefit greatly from the stones.
Any thing which will hit the board or a bone/plate might benefit from a more coarse job. DMT or... -

I use a fine DMT card. Gives good and lasting...
I use a fine DMT card. Gives good and lasting results. Easy to do.
Every time I tried and got a shaving-edge on a kitchen knife, it dies as soon as it hits the board. JMO
