Good thought, Tim. The razor blade is likely 99% gone as it was the host.
Most of what we are seeing is likely the rust/corrosion in the shape of the blade!

That blade looks nothing like I found in my yard. Rusty, yes. Just not built-up like that.
Look at the big buildup on bottom of the tang at the pivot. You can see where the scale was.

Not really. I an referring to the 80's. It's been the 60's/early 70's since asbestos was in brakes. Literally turning the iron drums and rotors produces fine granules of iron.

Slather it with WD40, Wipe it off on occasion. Slowly see what you have.
As Tim said....Likely nothing. The rust might be the coolest thing about it? Leave it be, I say.
