Great response, I will pick up some 400 grit wet/dry sandpaper today while I'm out. I looked at the Shapton DGLP, but after dropping $400 on the set of three stones plus a holder, I couldn't afford...

Just ordered a set of 4K/8K/16K Shapton Glass stones. I know I need to lap them & chamfer the edges before the first use.

Here's the thing: I hate lapping stones. I don't know how people use them....
