Put the knot in the vice,look at TGNs Finest two bands,they are very nice knots IMO

removing knots from old handles can be pretty easy,or not:)I wrap the knot heavily in tape.clamp in a vice,twist and pull,No Go? you need power tools but run the risk of damage.
