Yep. you can make great explosives also:) we used to toss a handfull of carbide into the urinals at school,wait a minute,carefully toss a match and blow the urinal to bits and pieces.

Belive it or not they work great and will run for 4/5 hrs straight,we all used them in the delta for frogs and bumpin shad late at nite in the sacto river.
