The next step is to punch the holes,two in the front.three on the handle end.For me I find it the vexing part of the project as all needs to be in perfect alignment.
I cannot tell you how to do this...

Next you need to glue it.Have settled on using water activated polyurethane (gorilla glue) makes a super strong joint,do not use to much as it expands alot.
I leave it clamped for about 6 hrs....

Do not cut any of the rods until finished with making your continuous belt.
You could lace them but a strong glued joint is far better looking IMO and not as bulky.
First I skiv the leather on both...

Next you have to thread and fit the two side supports,are 5/16 steel rods.

Next you need to adhiese the handle.I use 3/8 x16 Zinc plated rod,the 3/8ths hole is bored before the handle is turned,about 2 in. deep.I use JB weld steel reinforced epoxy putty....
