Next you need to glue it.Have settled on using water activated polyurethane (gorilla glue) makes a super strong joint,do not use to much as it expands alot.
I leave it clamped for about 6 hrs.... -

Do not cut any of the rods until finished with making your continuous belt.
You could lace them but a strong glued joint is far better looking IMO and not as bulky.
First I skiv the leather on both... -
