Nothing to lose take the motor apart,see what you can see,may be as simple a bent cooling fan blade hitting the housing,have had that happen.

Is it an offshore made motor?? if so,cannot get parts for them,any brand name american made motor can be re-built,have done no less than 5 in the past 30 yrs.
