there is some similarity but the shave is different, a feather shaves different then a straight IMO, but I can't really describe it, it's something you have to experience yourself.

I have on a pasted strop, it works but you might only prolong the life of the blade by 2 to 3 shaves at most. Not really worth the trouble IMO.

I found that in the beginning I got about 6-7 shaves...

Same thing here, for my head shaves (every two days) this is what I prefer. I have both the folding and non folding ones, both are great but the non folding is a bit too small for my very big hands...
