Paper...
Believe it or not paper is an abrasive. I used news paper and a very mild abrasive to polish brass in the military. It would gleam like gold.
That is what gave me the idea. -

The 6k grit is the finest I have... For now. I am going to try a polishing paste, 24k grit to strop with.
