Yeah, the paint job is in pretty good shape, apart from the head of the peacock, which I suppose faded from use and solvents in lather, etc. Think I might try to steam the scales with a spacer...

Here's a shot of mine FWIW. Just hauled it out. In better shape than I recall. Should clean up nicely. Downside is that the scales are mildly warping due to a parallel, rather than tapered, spacer...

Very nice. I have an Ern in lesser with peacock(?) scales in a box somewhere. Lesser condition, but this may inspire me to haul it out.
