I started working on honing the Waldorf and the scales broke the rest of the way. After rescaling it, it honed up incredibly easy and the devil spit on the edge near the toe doesn't seem to be...

Even if the edge doesn't clean up, it will still have a nice place in my collection. Even have some period fancy scales that might look good as replacements should I decide to change them out.

It wouldn't surprise me if it did.

Quite a bit of devil spit on the edge on this side as well.

Found this boker with mother of pearl tang at a yard sale today. For $5 I couldn't pass it up, even with the broken scale and devil spit on the edge.
