Just an idea: Maybe someone can supply "standardized hairs" for razor testing. It would take some uncertainty out of it.
I agree, there is nothing like learning from the masters in person. -

I have this stone progression:
Norton 1K -> Norton 4K -> Norton 8K -> Chinese 12K -> Plain leather strop
What are good sharpness tests for each of these steps? I would like to know...
