try the cream first because you can't shave and notput something on after

buy the stuff in a carrier oil, i used to use this for spots and it's better than any purpose made stuff on the market, but the pure oil will burn you.

I had a similar problem which is why i think it's too much pressure. That and a combination of too many passes and tired skin. Not everyone's face...

I would almost guarantee it'll be the pressure you're using the razor with, i had the same problem until i had a eureka moment recently. Do you have any old school barbers nearby? go get a hot shave...
