On the scales I made I kept them flat overall and the chamfer or bevel was cut by hand. Well actually sanded and filed into place rather than a true "cut" but yes it's all hand...

Over the course of time I got these as trades for work . Finally I got around to working on them.
The one with the black horn scales comes in at a shy 9/8. The scales were decent so I cleaned them...
