I found that if I cut a piece out of the conk and let it soak in my lather bowl in just a touch of hot water while I shower, it lathers up pretty well afterwords. Also helps to throw in...

Doesn't look too bad to me Carl... and not THAT pointy! LOL. Seriously, it's something you just have to try at least once, and I say 'brave on you!!'.
