Yes im thinking slate , there are some striations ,lines running across it and it looks like another slate hone i have . But i could be wrong is some how to test it ? Im going to take the screws out...

Just picked up this new hone today seems to be a very thin slate type super smooth with some faint lines running across it . I was wondering if anyone has one similar or knows anything about it ....
