Try the basic uploader I find it works OK. Can you see either of the pictures in your post?

This is what I normally do:
Create my post (text)
Click Go Advanced at the bottom of the post page
Click Manage Attachments
In the new window Click Add Files
Click Choose file
Navigate to where...

Hmmmm, no, no big deal but odd. Oh well, thought I'd report it anyway just in case the 'bug' wasn't know and it could have been remedied...
