I wasn't holding the edge of the blade flat on the hone. I started using two hands to make sure I had even pressure across the blade, and everything started working better.

Thanks for the reply BigJim. I did grid lap each hone. I actually lapped the 4k several times prior to using, so I don't think that was an issue. I've got to be doing something wrong, so I'll try...

I guess "fix" wasn't the correct term to use. I was just trying to "touch up" the blade due to my incorrect stropping technique. I wasn't trying to fix what I thought was a problem with the blade...

It was a brand new razor from straightrazordesigns, so I am doubtful that it's a honing error. I will try and get some pics up to show what I'm talking about. Thanks for the replies.
