Randy, can you explain why more tape would binder rather than help? Is because the bevel would too steep after 3 layers?

How narrow should it be? Half that?

Ok, used marker as layout fluid and three layers of tape to see where I'd be at a far as a bevel without regrinding. Here's what it looks like. Opinions?

Updated pictures. I used 220 because I had 220 and 400 and 220 is where I'm starting on this blade.

The edge looks great! No Swiss cheese, and no pitting even on first 1/8" of blade....

Educate me Randy. Why does it need regrinding?

Also, playing heavily into my decision to keep or not, I don't have a set of hones, so I'd have to send it out to get it sharp, which of course cuts into any small profit margin there would be.
