As you are quite a meticulous collector I take it Russells doesn´t affect goldwash and scales?

I am sure silicone spray, WD40 and others will work very well in protecting against oxidation in the pivot pin area.
I can apply renwax once in the same way and not worry about rust with normal use...

Personally I would be nervous using WD40 on razors with goldwash, and I doubt scales made with vulcanite (rubber), celluloid, wood, ivory etc would benefit from it either.
Renwax on the other hand...

Did the review include testing of Renaissance Wax?
That has been my preference and so far have no reason to change.
