I'll admit the only hones I have used are around...
I'll admit the only hones I have used are around 3x8 so the thought of dropping that much money on three that small is a little unnerving. Obviously you can learn anything really but do you get good...

This is probably a terrible question but how necessary would y'all say the slurry stones are? (I understand a lot of this is personal preference and opinions so share your opinion)

If I were to buy one of the stones AJ estimates...
If I were to buy one of the stones AJ estimates to be around 15k and use it after my norton 8k would that be too big of a grit jump?
