Was it the matte or satin finish? I was thinking the smoother the better, but matte might show wear better?

My first impression is using this on somehting that has already been honed without tape or maybe with just one layer. Then taking it to 8k and moving up, but I think using a 1k should be avoided....

I was considering this when I started honing. Might have to give this a try...
