I just concluded my second shave, with no nicks and no razor burn. I had to do quite a bit of touch up after my 3rd pass, but I just re-applied some more lather and the touch ups...

Ok, now I'm thinking that I'd like to get a few more and have a weeks rotation of DE's. I know I'm still learning, but this is what happened with SR's too,and I own 30 SR's now .

Ok gentlemen, I went out yesterday and purchased a pack of Green Derby blades and gave it a shot today. After 3 passes, I have a good, not BB soft shave, but very good shave with minimal razor burn....

I have no doubt that most of my issue is operator error. Im just looking for a more forgiving blade to help this operator on his journey to becoming proficient. Thanks to everyone that responded.

Any idea of where Derby blades fall into the sharpness scale? I got a pack as a bonus, but never tried them.

I've been shaving with a SR for almost a year and switched to the SR because of razor burn from traditional razors. Literally, from that day on 95% of my razor burn disappeared.
