I don't think anyone would recommend a shave soap on scent alone which is secondary, as you said, to how well it lathers. I can't stand the almond scent of several Italian soaps but they do lather...

Yea, I'll second the Tabac as being masculine smelling. Coupled with their AS and EDT and you are good to go.
