Buy some of Virginia Shengs dense silvertip, and compare it to TGN grade As. You'll see what I'm talking about.

That was just my opinion on some of the knots you can get these days. As Lynn had said, the TGN grade As and the HMW knots are excellent. I will also add the premium silvertips from a TGN as well....

Very cool. Only way to get a Simpson knot is to buy one and disassemble it from the handle. If you want a super high grade knot, try shavmac. They're made in house. Virginia Sheng on Ebay also has...
