Wood is far easier than plastic. You can split the handle in half along the grain. That being said, I've never done it on stabilized wood.

Great idea. He's probably got a lot of experience which means he's probably run into crap situations like this in the past. I bet he's even got the fancy adaptor kit to hold it and might be willing...

Just protect that knot when you start going mad scientist on the handle. I use green painters tape when I've had to do work like this in the past. It comes off the badger hair without hurting it at...

Rubber bumpers for your chuck would be the ideal way, but you probably don't have those. Even if you did, I'm not sure you could reverse chuck it to finish the bottom......

Same reason I don't do CA anymore. It's a shell waiting to crack. I did one a while ago that went to Australia. Cracked to all hell, owner shipped it back and the finish was just trashed. sanded it...

Yup. I have issues with it on end grain too sometimes, just like on yours there. Try what I said above and hopefully you can get it fixed.

Your loft on that 30mm is probably a little on the higher side IMO. Not a bad thing. If it were mine, I'd shoot for around 54-55mm.

So you might be able to drill it deeper and lower the loft a bit. That will set it deeper, and at the same time, fill out the hole. What's your intended loft?

How the heck do you have a 67mm loft? Or is that a typo? Max you can order is 58 on a 30mm knot.
