As far as I now, it wasn't uncommon for (more or less) rich men to keep their own straight at the barbershop to be shaved with it. Carving his name could be the easiest way to distinguish the razor...

It still could be a Doble Temple. In the early days, goldwash was the only difference between that two models.

These scales doesn't match a pre 1950 blade. I'm not meaning they're a fake, of course. They're real Fialrmonica scales but weren't used until 60's. Pre 1950 scales...

But it isn't NOS: scales are much newer than the blade, as well as the box.
Box matches scales, but not the blade.
