I think these scales are horn I'm not 100 pct sure.. Can I sand them to clean them up a bit then polish them to get some type of shine out of them . Please look at post one pic

What I meant is they take the place of the outside washers during pinning I always put washers between the tang and the scales

Ok thanks pal ill post the pics when I'm finished I spent about 2 hrs on the 220 grit to remove the patina most of it anyways.. Thanks for all ur help
