Thanks for all the advice...so far i've no problem getting good lather by lathering directly in the face. If it doesn't necessarily use more soap than using bowl..I guess i'll just keep at it then

So far I've used 2 different soap; Baldfrog and Crabtree & Evelyn. With both soap, I find it easier to lather directly on the face. I usually swirl my brush for a good 8-10 sec and lather on the face...
