From France!!! It looks like a cousin of our french unknown stones

I' d say no at a first look, the slurry is really different; the grit would be a little bit finer, (actually it depends on coticule of course)

Flame hone? Fine; found in a barber/Hair dresser old box from early 20e th century:

Another unamed green stone(same family as the others?):210 mm (8 inches)by, 25 to 34 mm

Those stones has the same hardness than vintage coticules. Once I tried to make slurry...

A few pics to get a better idea: stones all come from center or south of France(States of Allier, Cantal, Hérault, Rhône etc...):one was found with an old paddle-box with a date marked on the wood...

Yes martin you're right, The two of theses stones I have were on paddle.

I'll make some good pics; after some tests I would say they are as fine as vintage coticule...and can be use as finishers.

Seriously, I also think it's higher than 1k. Beveled edges, the size, the aspect, it's a stone made for razors. A special stone or La Lune!

Bought to a friend of mine who found it on an attic sale, with a strop and an old dovo! He doesn't like to hone his straight razors so he sold it...

Thanks for your comments! Actually the stone is not mine...The owner is PrinceVlad, we know each other from a french forum. And this lucky guy has a second one, the same stone, but much longer !

PrinceVlad lent his stone to me last week to lap and to test it.
So it's lapped but not tested yet!
