sorry I should have been more clear. I actually shaped the inside of the scales with a file to match the exact curve and bows of the tang so it can slide in and out of the scales without any friction...

Wish I was better at taking pic's. It looks like the scales are straight on the top and bottom where it covers the blade. in reality they have the save curve as the blade does both top and bottom.
