to do all work on that stone you need the 3 naguras. however its way easier and faster to do bevel work and pre finish work on the syntets.
ofcourse you can set the bevel on a wide stone.

yes you can work on your synthetics and then set...
yes you can work on your synthetics and then set a natural finish. go from around 8k to a nice jnat with tomo nagura. should give you a nice edge.
watch out for honing on the jnat with water only....
