I've had good success with both the Norton 1k and...
I've had good success with both the Norton 1k and the King. I use the King more for cutlery, and it may be a little softer (or just feel that way), but works great for bevel setting when flat.

Methinks that most guys that hone a lot, and use a King, keep it in water. I put mine in hours before, if not overnight. I have the Norton too, and prefer it. I'll be trying the green one soon...
