Well, I got bored of revising and did this today.

Went down to 400 grit paper on the box before a few coats of teak oil and lined the interior with green felt.

First going over with sandpaper tonight. Cleaned it off with white spirit after sanding and I think I'm going to oil it.

I may have actually made a girlie noise when I saw it wet with white...

It's quite a deep lid so I was planning on chucking a bit of storage in there too, drop down section.

I've already started to look for the brass struts to keep the lid up.

Slightly wider and longer than I thought. 45x30cm and 10cm deep.

This will hold a good few razors. I'm happy with it for £5 and may use it to keep other precious items in such as my grandfathers...

Nice mahogany (I think) cutlery box. Has nice brass inlays and a key operated lock with brass barrel.

About 30x20cm and in need of some love once my exam is out of the way.
