    looks like that axe has a high carbon steel...

    looks like that axe has a high carbon steel insert.. My dad has one like that (single sided), it's a great axe.

    I have a lansky sharpening kit too, had it for...

    I have a lansky sharpening kit too, had it for several years now. My problem with it is that it takes AGES to sharpen my Shun Classic chef knife (VG10 ?).
    Is this steel just hard to sharpen ?
