Alright did a prelim test using a needle at a 45deg angle over the lines on hone. Soo smooth. And since you've all been so helpful here's some hone porn for ya :D

I had already considered Jimbos idea of a slurry stone. I have a 5x1 stone I use already so it won't be hard to use this one that way. If anything easier as its wider. Will wait and see and take it...

Zoom the hell out of the pics the crack does not appear to go through the stone nor completely across it.
