Interesting with me a line of light indicates perfection. I have a pro honed one by Hart Steel and there is a massive line of light and it shaves like a dream....

I use a loupe too , they are crap to me though, everything looks good through the loupe.

I hear what your saying, however every razor that I achieve a beam of light on or reflection of light on is really keen and smooth, I have 3 at the moment
