    My Edwin Jagger DE89 gets me down to bare skin. Yes a straight can do the same, only with a lot more skill and time.

    I get as close as a straight with my Merkur...

    I get as close as a straight with my Merkur Progress and Slantbar. Takes about 15 minutes with a DE and 20 with a straight.
