From what I read, it seems that you need to tighten the loom so that there is little sag when stropping. Once you finish stropping, you need to release the tension on the leather - should help...

Really useful info! Thanks Speedster and Badgister! So the canvas is really a cleaning step before stripping on leather (or CrO if blade is dull). Good to know!
