My bad, corrected/edited in the original post.

I used a Ferric Chloride/water solution.

Blade is O1 @ HRC 60 I would put it at 1/4 grind maybe a tad more. Shoulderless, with a bit of a tail. The blade has been etched a slate grey that is a near match to the carbon fiber.
