You might also consider making the soap holder deeper so it will be less messy when you load your brush, though I am not sure how that would affect the lathering bowl.

I don't want to sound like a grump but you will get pulled up...

You would only need a new lid section, just make sure the gap between the base of the bowl and the support is large enough to comfortably fit your fingers so probably 30mm or so.
