If I want to save the patina but get rid of the rust you can use something pointy and made of metal and just scratch off the rust if it's just surface rust. I use a scratch awl and it doesn't scratch...

Well its definitely older than the movies haha. Thats a neat little razor. Are you planning on using it? BTW nice first couple of posts schooling us on some razors. Maybe the blade is German steel?
