Thanks, I have tried one layer of tape with micro bevel, while honing I have been examining the edge with a loupe and I am honing evenly along the whole length on both sides. it is baffling me a bit....

I picked up this Silver King USA razor, it had a nasty chip in the blade which I honed out, but I just can't seem to get it shaving sharp.
