Yep, optical illusion from the upturned toe being head on. Normal Sheffield honing rules apply, rolling x required. Wostenholm's grindings consistently impress me. Fastidious by Sheffield standards.

It's more the blade is a salad of sharp angles. One, it is always a risk to soften them, and two, if I send it to someone like mark, he could exploit that to good visual effect with contrasts. And...

Probably one for a pro to restore. Heel is a touch pitty, but not as much as it looks. No big deal. Really beautiful blade.
