My first DIY liquor! It's a very nice brandy distilled from a batch of white wine, added with some French oak chips.. I know it's not a whisk(e)y but by god, it tastes like sunshine.

Don't let that one experience keep you from trying other blends.. I'll go as far as to say that a more mature blend, Ballantines 17 and up for example, Johnny Walker blue label, are smoother...

My friend, I'd like to answer that but the truth is that it's been far to long since I've had an auchentoshan to give fair comparison.

Glenkinchie is a very nice, spicy lowlands. Too bad the 10y is discontinued.. The 12y is a good follow-up though..

Don't get me wrong, the distillers edition is beautiful too but what i like about the 12y is that it's 4y younger. Thus stronger and more playful in taste (floral). But you'll have a great islay...

I've had both and both are gems. But when i have to choose, I'd go with the 12yo. It's nice and oily and full of flavor.

It is :) Burnfoot was the brandname before it was changed to GlenGoyne.
I like it especially because it hasn't got the "signature" heavy sherry taste to it.

Nice one! The corryvreckan is an awesome Ardbeg! Had the Elijah Craig as well but i can't say i was really excited about it. It's a great bourbon, don't get me wrong, but I prefer the four roses...

One of my favourite Irish whiskeys! I found the first nose to be like freshly skinned green apples which totally surprised me the first time. .

An Ardbeg in summer? To each his own but man, talk about a heavy roller in the sun. . I'd go for a bunna or a Bowmore indeed. Had the 15 but was more surprised by the 17.. slainthé!
